Frome 2nd Team Vs Yeovil & Sherborne 2's

Frome 2's went away to joint league leaders knowing that without a keeper the game was going to be tough and goals were likely to be conceded.  However things got even tougher when they went down to 10 and suffered an injury on the day which meant at times the team were playing with just 9.

Frome 2's stuck to their game plan and the objectives set at the beginning of the match to ensure that the match was not wasted.  Although 11 goals were scored Frome were not disheartnened as the goals scored against them were not significantly scored but just obtained by a Yeovil player who managed to get free in the D and hit the target when they obtained the ball.

Frome successfully defended 7-8 short corners, saved a flick and dispatched a few shots on goal using good skills and even more determination.  Never giving up the young forwards supported the hard working mids and defenders by ensuring that every ball dispatched to them was worked up the pitch and asserted pressure on the Yeovil defence.   Using their speed, quick thinking and supporting each other Frome obtained a few short corners themselves and the Yeovils keeper was called into actioned on a number of occasions to ensure Frome never got onto the score sheet.

Had there been a keeper at both ends of the pitch then the result would have been a lot different.  The team look forward to playing Yeovil again in the new year
