Match Report | Playing at home Frome 2s were up against a team they had not played before and faced them without a keeper. Keen to develop further on last weeks performance the players were excited yet apprehensive about the challenge ahead. Knowing the game balanced out once they ventured into Gillinghams half Frome attacked with determination and surprised themselves with O'Connor scoring an early goal. Taken aback Gillingham reacted but were no match for Frome's bonded defence, Hamblin, Taylor, Townsend and Baker who kept the opposition well at bay and supported the team pressing ahead, creating opportunities for Oakley and Seward to notch up another two before the break. The half time talk re-enforced the need for the team to stay focused as the game was far from won. With the team back on the pitch unsure of the changes Gillingham may have made to break through, Frome still pushed ahead and won a few short corners, one of which was injected at pace and converted by Cullum which took away any hopes of a come back for Gillingham; the game was now out of their reach. O'Connor added a 5th from another short corner, a loose pick up which left Gillingham frustrated with the goal line but not down and out as in the last 2 minutes of the game they stole a goal.
